Childe Hassam (1859-1935) was a leading American Impressionist painter, celebrated for his vibrant depictions of modern city life and idyllic New England landscapes. Deeply influenced by French Impressionism, Hassam adapted the style to create a distinctly American vision, capturing the bustling energy of turn-of-the-century New York City as well as the tranquil beauty of coastal gardens and towns.A prolific artist, he produced thousands of works across various media and was a founding member of “The Ten,” a group of artists who broke away from the Society of American Artists.
